저자 이지소는 어렸을 때부터 자유분방한 성격을 지녔다. 대학에서는 심리와 철학을 전공했고 그 결과 많은 책을 읽고 이 사회에 대한 고찰을 했다. 섹스에 대해서 지나치게 보수적인 우리 사회에 불만을 가지고 있으며, 이를 개인적으로나 해결하기 위해 ‘프리섹스주의자’가 되었다.
