About the author
이익상 소설가, 언론인 호는 성해(星海) 1895년 전북 전주 출생 1935년에 지병으로 사망 동아일보 학예부장, 매일신보 편집국장을 역임했으며, 신경향파 문학운동에 참가하였다. 2009년 ‘친일반민족행위 진상규명위원회’에서 발표한 ‘친일반민족행위 705인’ 명단에 이름이 오르기도 했다. 주요 작품으로는 어촌, 젊은 교사, 흙의 세례, 광란, 짓밟힌 진주, 쫓기어가는 사람들 등의 단편소설이 있다.
