About the author
1902년 전라북도 옥구에서 출생했다. 1924년 문단에 데뷔한 뒤 수많은 작품을 남겼으며, 1930년대 채만식의 대표작이라 할 수 있는 작품들이 발표되었다. 그의 작품으로는 「레디메이드 인생(1934)」, 「패배자의 무덤(1939)」, 「인형의 집을 나와서(1933)」, 「탁류(1937)」 등이 있다.
