About this ebook
어떤 언어든 그러하지만, 영어를 제대로 구사하려면, 구조[structure]를 익히고 단어[word]를 많이 알아야 한다. 단어를 안다는 것은 무엇을 말하는가? 단어를 안다는 것은 기본적으로 ‘철자-발음-뜻’[spelling-pronunciation-meaning]을 묶어서 외우는 것이다. 영어를 제대로 구사하려면, 영어 단어를 ‘많이’ 알아야 한다. 어떻게? 우리 두뇌는 ‘설명’[explanation]을 들으면 활동성이 약해지고, ‘질문’[question]을 듣고 ‘대답하려’[answer]할 때, 활성화한다. 호기심이 발동하는 것이다. 이 원리를 영어 단어를 익히는 데서 어떻게 적용할 것인가? 필자는 풀기가 한 가지 효과적인 방식이라고 생각한다.
