『강화기행』은 단편 ‘강화 여행기’로 1953년 10월 19일 사전 답사를 위하여 부평, 김포를 거쳐 강화도를 한 바퀴 돌고 배로 인천으로 나와서 31일 밤에 귀경하며 적은 메모를 간략히 기술한 글이다. 인천과 강화 24곳을 둘러보고 서정적이고 서사적인 면모를 앞세워 당시 역사적 발자취를 순례하는 것을 시구적 정서로 읊은 것이다. 저자는 이미 《심춘순례 尋春巡禮》,《백두산근참기(白頭山勤參記》등을 통해 팔도 여정을 시가 형식으로 집필한 적이 있다.
