1998년 ‘작가세계’를 통해 등단한 저자의 두 번째 시집이다. 죽음을 폭로하고 환상적 유토피아를 그려가는 시편들과 함께 그에 대한 진술을 담아놓은 구성으로 우리 시의 새로운 유토피아를 열어가는 40편의 시들을 6장에 나누어 엮었다. 공동체적 주체가 이루는 우주를 꿈꾸다가도 스스로 제거될 것을 마다하지 않는 헌신적 열정의 시를 유토피아로 삼아 차이와 계급이 없는 세상을 그리고, 현실은 배제와 차별로 신음하고 있음을 고발하기도 한다. 이처럼 환상을 통해 이루어지는 경이로운 체험을 오롯이 담은 ‘기댐’, ‘꼬리를 물다’, ‘저글링’, ‘눈동자 넓이의 구멍으로 볼 수 있는 것’ 등의 시편을 수록하였다.
About the author
1967년 서울에서 태어났다. 1998년 『작가세계』로 등단했고 시집 『과속방지턱을 베고 눕다』, 과학에세이집 『과학인문학』을 냈다. 지금은 계룡이라는 작은 도시에서 잘 살고 있다.
