이효석 소설가 호는 가산(可山), 필명은 아세아(亞細亞) 1907년 강원도 평창 출생 1942년 뇌막염으로 요절 그의 작품은 대체로 이국을 동경하는 엑조티시즘과 자연을 배경으로 한 원초적인 에로티시즘 성향 등이 드러난다. 주요 작품으로는 분녀, 산, 들, 메밀꽃 필 무렵, 석류 등의 단편소설과 《화분》 등의 장편소설이 있다.
