백이가 한 호흡 후에 다시 입을 열었다.
“제가 하겠습니다.”

“제가 마님과 동침하겠습니다.”
그리고 한동안 정적이 이어졌다.
“박수 백이.”
“예, 나리.”
“이틀 뒤에 오게.”
“모레 뵙지요.”
백이가 몸을 휙 돌려 방을 벗어났다. 그리고 아무 소리도 새어 나오지 않는 맞은편 방을 빤히 쳐다보았다.
‘기다리시지요, 마님. 제가 곧 진정한 여인으로 만들어 드리겠습니다.’
