About the author
전라북도 전주 출생. 무역업에 20년 종사 후 1991년부터 대중소설가로 변신함. 1992년, 1993년, 『밤의 대통령』(전4부 12권), 『황제의 꿈』(전3부 9권)으로 연속 밀리언셀러를 기록한 후에 대중소설가의 입지를 굳힘. 현재까지 매년 7, 8권의 소설을 출간하여 60종 167권의 소설을 출간함. 기업소설, 역사소설, 개척소설, 폭력소설, 애정소설, SF소설, 정치소설, 무협소설 등 다양한 장르의 소설로 이원호만의 독특한 스타일을 형성함. 주요 작품으로는 『영웅의 도시』 『생존자』 『계백』 『산트로』 『밤의 황제』 『불굴』 『질풍시대』 『특수집행자』 등이 있음.
