Houssaye’s history of the 1815 campaign stands out as perhaps the most complete and least biased French account of the campaign that culminated in the downfall of Napoleon. Henry Houssaye, an esteemed member of the French Institute, wrote a number of works on the Napoleonic period (mainly of the later years of Napoleon), amongst them plays and ancient history.
