"... आजचा परम मंगल दिवस. उपनिषदं आज कृतार्थ झाली. परमेश्वरानं फार मोठी कृपा करून हा दिवस दाखवला. या भारताच्या इतिहासाचं विधिलिखित आज आपण लिहून ठेवीत आहोत. निरनिराळ्या जातींनी सुडबुद्धीनं एकमेकांशी सदैव लढत राहण्याऐवजी "आपलीच संस्कृती श्रेष्ठ, आपणच काय ते देवाचे लाडके, सर्व सदगुण केवळ आपल्यांतच आहेत, बाकीचे मानववंश म्हणजे नुसते शुंभ, हीन, असंस्कृत पशू...' असं मानण्याऐवजी, दुसर्या मानववंशांत दिव्यता आहे, त्या त्या भिन्न मानवी समाजांतही एक प्रकारची चारित्र्याची प्रभा असते, त्यांच्या त्यांच्या संस्कृतीतही विशिष्ट असे महत्त्वाचे गुण असतात, हे ध्यानात घेऊन एकमेकांशी एकमेकांच्या जवळ येणं, मनानं व बुद्धीनं अधिक श्रीमंत होणं, अधिक विशाल होणं हे सर्व मानवांचं कर्तव्य आहे, ही गोष्ट या भारतात आज प्रामुख्यानं ओळखली जात आहे. "अत:पर झालं गेलं विसरून गेलं पाहिजे. खंडीभर मातीतून जो एक सोन्याचा कण मिळतो, तो आपण जवळ घेतो. त्याप्रमाणे मानवी इतिहासाच्या अनंत घडामोडींतून शेवटी जो सत्कण मिळतो, तो घेऊन पुढं गेलं पाहिजे. ती आपली पुढची शिदोरी. "भावी पिढीच्या हातात द्वेषाची जुनी मशाल आपण देणार नाही. प्रेमाचा हा दीप त्यांच्या हाती देऊ. "हा नंदादीप वाढवीत न्या' असं त्यांना सांगू. जो सोन्याचा कण आपल्याला मिळाला, तो त्यांना देऊ...
Today is the most auspicious day. The upnishadas were gratified today. God has graced all of us. Today we are writing India`s future. Today India realises that every member of the mankind irrespective of his caste and religion is a respected member of the society. The whole heredity has great abilities, each community has some special aura of its own, special qualities of their community, Indians think that "it is our duty to come closer, to enrich our mind and intelligence, to widen our humanity. We should never feel that ""Only our community is great, all the virtues are the private property of our community. The members of society are uncultured...`` We should not have the mentality to degrade people. We should not take pride in making them our slaves. On the contrary, everybody should realise that all humans are equal. They all possess divine qualities. Every community has its own aura. Everyone should embrace everybody without hesitation. We should enrich ourselves by realising the importance of other communities, their virtues, their values. With our heart and soul we should accept the importance of "one in all` and "all in one`. It is true that all these years we followed discrimination whole heartedly. But now is the time to change our attitude towards others. Let us hold on the our goodness. Let us handover all the goodness to the next generation. Let us hand over the heritage of love and caring. Let us bury the hatred deep into the earth.`'
