BING XIN was born in North China Plain in 1949. She was a worker in a chemical plant for several years, a stage artist and costume designer for an art troupe from 1971 to 1982, an art editor for the monthly journal Yanling for an art museum from 1982 to 1986 and for Population Newspaper from 1986 to 1996. She published Sleepwalking in American Academic Press in 2013.
