A Child’s Garden of Verses is Robert Louis Stevenson’s 1885 collection of cherished children’s poems. Over 60 lyrical pieces are featured in this anthology, alongside glorious illustrations by Jessie Willcox Smith. Robert Louis Stevenson (1850–1894) was a Scottish writer of novels, essays, poetry, and short stories. He’s best known for his children’s adventure novel ‘Treasure Island’ (1883), his collection of poetry ‘A Child’s Garden of Verses’ (1885), and his Gothic novella ‘The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’ (1886). He achieved celebrity status during his lifetime and his works are highly acclaimed to this day.
