About this eBook

She’s the Christmas light in a world that seems so dark...

When Patrol Officer Kelly Shannon answers a suspected DUI call that results in the suspect’s death, she has to deliver the grim news to his young family, including his brother—her friend and crush, Mick. Kelly convinces herself that she’s only making amends when Mick begs for help looking out for his niece and nephew as his sister-in-law grieves and neglects her young children. But as Christmas approaches, Kelly admits the truth. She’s falling in love.

Journalist Mick Mizzoni spent his life trying to keep his younger brother out of trouble. When he gains temporary guardianship over his niece and nephew, he crosses the professional line he drew years ago and turns to Kelly Shannon for help. As she embraces him and his new family, she gives him hope that this Christmas could be different.

With their happiness hanging by a thread, Kelly hopes for a Christmas miracle, but Mick, who’s not as jaded as he thought, wants so much more.

This is the second book in The Shannon Sisters series and it is based in Whitefish Montana. This area is off of Glacier National Park. At the beginning of the book, we learn about the DUI death of one of the characters that drove me crazy in the first book. The town Sherriff Kelly Shannon was involved and we learn all about this as she is talking to his half brother Mitch. Now that the scene is somewhat set let me tell you a little bit more about this book, It's not a cookie-cutter Christmas book BUT it is a book that has 2 kids in it, oh yes I forgot about them and a mother who well cared more about the booze than the kids. This is one of those books that I found myself reaching for the tissue as i was reading many times, But I also took note of things from this book of cool ideas the book that I can do with my family. Our author made sure that Mitch and the kids while they might have not have started out in the best family they did at least get to have a good holiday experience and maybe more. This is one of the kinds of books I like to read because it IS real life and down and "dirty realism". If this were to be a movie later it would be on Lifetime Christmas. Hope So,

Kelly and Mick’s story in A Convenient Christmas Proposal by CJ Carmichael, book two in her Shannon Sisters series is a tale filled with emotions, family, and love. While in pursuit of a suspected DUI driver, Patrol Officer Kelly Shannon witnesses the fatal accident as the car leaves the road. Delivering the awful news to the driver’s young family and his brother, her friend and crush, Mick, is way harder than she ever expected. As grief affects the victim’s wife, leaving her young children unsupervised and neglected, Kelly takes time to drive by their house, worrying and feeling guilty for her role in their father’s death. Journalist Mick Mizzoni spent much of his life trying to keep his younger brother out of trouble. When he gains temporary guardianship of his niece and nephew he turns to Kelly for help. At first, Kelly convinces herself she is helping Mick to make up for the guilt she feels for the accident. As Christmas approaches, Kelly finds herself falling for Mick and the children; giving Mick hope that maybe this holiday could be different. It will take a Christmas miracle for Mick and Kelly to get what they truly want; love and an instant family. Ms Carmichael wrote a wonderful, intriguing, and emotional story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with chemistry, adventures, loving sisters, and charming characters giving Kelly and Mick a chance at love. I highly recommend A Convenient Christmas Proposal to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
