But it also supplies the Greek and Latin etymologies in many cases, which makes it all the better. It even includes ancient and classical uses of medical terms by Hippocrates and Galen, which gives the reader a sense of the evolution of meaning these words have undergone. It is an indispensable resource for translating and modernizing the works of Age-of-Reason anatomists and physicians, who are difficult to approach because of this etymological evolution.
