Taking the ups and downs of four leading aristocratic families: Jia, Shi, Wang, Xue as its background, Cao created a tragic love triangle story among Jia Baoyu, Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai, revealed the crisis of feudalism. The novel has a pervasive influence and worldwide reputation at home and abroad.
