About the author

Jane Willis wrote this book while teaching at Aston University, Birmingham, UK on their Master’s courses 

in teaching English and ESP, mainly by Distance Learning. She is the author of several books including 

Teaching English through English. She has since written (jointly with her husband Dave) Doing Task-based 

Teaching, OUP  and co-authored several prize-winning books, including  English for Primary Teachers: a 

handbook of activities and classroom language  (with Mary Slattery) OUP and Teachers Exploring Tasks, 

with Corony Edwards, Palgrave MacMillan,
