Co zrobić, aby czytelnik wpadł po uszy w jakąś fabułę? Wystarczy stworzyć mu wspaniały, fantastyczny świat i rozwijać jego wyobraźnię. Tak dzieje się w powieści Gra o tron George R. R. Martina. Na ponad 700 stronach poznajemy ród Starków, Lannisterów i kilku innych. A to co otrzymujemy, to dopiero przedsmak tego, co będzie działo się dalej. Na początku nie wiemy jeszcze, kto jest głównym bohaterem. Autor dzieli książkę na rozdziały, z których kolejny poświęcony jest jednej z postaci. Ta do której najbardziej się przywiązujemy, uznamy za najważniejszą, ginie – i to nie wcale na końcu powieści. A ten tom to tylko przedsmak tego, co czeka czytelników w kolejnych odsłonach. I nigdy nie zgadniesz, kto zginie następny. Lepiej się nie przywiązywać do bohaterów. Do fabuły już tak.
