About this eBook

HBO’s hit series A GAME OF THRONES is based on George R R Martin’s internationally bestselling series A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE, the greatest fantasy epic of the modern age.

George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series has set the benchmark for contemporary epic fantasy. Labelled by Time magazine as one of the top 100 most influential people in the world, Martin has conjured a world as complex and vibrant as that of J.R.R. Tolkien’s, populated by a huge cast of fascinating, complex characters, and boasting a history that stretches back twelve thousand years.

Three great storylines weave through the books, charting the civil war for control of the Seven Kingdoms; the defence of the towering Wall of ice in the uttermost north against the unearthly threat of the Others; and across the Narrow Sea the rise to power of Daenerys Targaryen and the last live dragons in the world.

I can't work out why anybody would buy this collection at the current (reduced) price of £33.57 here in the UK. If you buy the books separately, including the "2 in 1" version for books 3 and 5, the total cost is £23.64. Admittedly, the individual books are all discounted at the moment, but it still seems silly that there'd be a difference of almost £10. I guess some folks might buy it for the convenience, or for the included preview of The Winds of Winter but, other than that, I'd recommend you save yourself 30%. Great books though! Poor review is to discourage people from purchasing this over-priced collection.

Was a great book until it wouldn't open for me anymore. No response when I reported the problem. Send another report and tbis time requested a refund if the issue couldn't be fixed in a week. Immediately it send 'cancelled' next to the book in my google play account info. Not sure I have been sent the refund though...really just wanted to finish the book. I was only 1/4 of the way through

Great atmosphere is created by the huge list of places and characters you get to see. I did get lost at times as you keep jumping from one POV to another and you sometimes can't help but have your favourites so find yourself rushing to get back to the characters you love or love to hate! But stick with them all and you are in for a treat. Love the shades of grey as no one is just good or evil......so far
