I could talk about the diction sometimes glass and sometimes bouquet. Or the syntax jagged here, balletic there. Or the metaphors, good lord. sam sax is a fellow at The Michener Center for Writers, the two-time Bay Area Unified Grand Slam Champion, and the two-time Oakland Grand Slam Champion. He is a recipient of The Acker Award in Poetry and co-founded the reading series The New Sh!t Show, which is currently running in four cities across the United States. His poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Rattle, The Journal, The Minnesota Review, Vinyl, and other journals.
