Since the publication of the first edition of this book in 1983, A Handbook for Medical Teachers has established itself as an ideal resource for new and established teachers who frequently still have little opportunities for education training. This fourth edition has been extensively revised to reflect the major changes that continue to occur in both undergraduate and postgraduate education.

David Newble is Professor and Head of the Department of Medical Education at the University of Sheffield, UK, and was previously Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Adelaide, South Australia. Robert Cannon is Associate Professor and Director of the Advisory Centre for University Education at the University of Adelaide.
