As the three of them spend more and more time with Gypsy, they all become entranced—in their own ways—by the horse and begin to learn more and more about themselves. A heartfelt story, this middle-reader novel is a must read for any girl or boy interested in nature and horses. Ages 9-12.

Autoren-Profil

Maia Wojciechowska (1927–2002) was born in Warsaw and attended school in Poland, France, and England before coming to America in 1942. She worked as an undercover detective, a motorcycle racer, a translator for Radio Free Europe, and a bullfighter before turning to writing. She won the Newbery Medal for her book Shadow of a Bull in 1965.
