About this eBook

NOW A MAJOR FILM STARRING TOM HANKS

The million-copy bestselling phenomenon: a funny, moving, uplifting tale of love and community that will leave you with a spring in your step.

'Warm, funny, and almost unbearably moving' Daily Mail

'Delightful . . . the perfect holiday read' Evening Standard

Ove is almost certainly the grumpiest man you will ever meet. He thinks himself surrounded by idiots - joggers, neighbours who can't reverse a trailer properly and shop assistants who talk in code.

But isn't it rare, these days, to find such old-fashioned clarity of belief and deed? Such unswerving conviction about what the world should be, and a lifelong dedication to making it just so?

In the end, you will see, there is something about Ove that is quite irresistible . . .

'Hilarious and heart-breaking' Stylist

'Rescued all those men who constantly mean to read novels but never get round to it' Spectator Books of the Year

WONDERFUL, I absolutely loved this book which I read after "My Grandmother Sends Her Regards and Apologies". Both books are standalone novels but once you've read one it's hard not to look for more of Frederick Backman's work. I'm going to do just that now!

Excellent read. Heartwarming and funny. You instant like the Man called Ove and the people who come into his life rather unwittingly. Made me laugh and cry in equal measure. Well written and made my heart feel good. My only criticism is that the last chapter seemed rushed and I would have liked to have seen the other characters' lives unfold in a little more detail.....and yet in another respect it seemed appropriate to finish where it did with the last chapter as the epilogue.

I must have looked like an idiot reading this book. It leaves your emotions all over your face, grinning from ear to ear or curled over trying not to cry. Everybody knows a man like Ove. Someone so set in there ways that they are impossible to get along with but in possession of such a pure heart. You will not forget this book.
