About this eBook

Navy SEAL Clay Pickett needs a wife, fast, or he’ll lose the model sustainable community he and his friends came home to Chance Creek to build. He’s got just the woman for the job in mind: sexy, sensitive Nora Ridgeway. Too bad she’s not interested in rushing to the altar.

When Nora leaves her job as a school teacher to open a Jane Austen Bed and Breakfast with her friends—and finally get a chance to write her novel—she’s relieved to escape the escalating threats of violence from an unknown student stalker, and more than a little interested in the Navy SEAL who’s after her heart. But when trouble starts stalking her at Chance Creek, Nora begins to wonder if she’s left her past behind after all.

Can Clay and Nora find a way to be together when everything is trying to tear them apart?

This book was better than the first book. I am still not feeling any connection between the two mc's. Ignoring the whole "Regency/Sustainable community" part, the stalker issue was kind of interesting. The thing that got me was that Nora was SURROUNDED by Navy SEAL's and she kept info a secret! Really?!! And her friends were complicit. The last few chapters were the best in the book. There were steamy scenes in the book, but since I didn't pick up any chemistry between Nora and Clay, they were just something to read. I listened to the audio book and thought the narrator did a good job. Once again, read and judge for yourself. I discovered that I had picked up the entire series over time, so I will be reading and reviewing each one. It will be interesting to see how things evolve over the course of the series.

Clay has designed sustainable homes that he and his ex-SEAL buddies are building in Chance Creek, Montana. Building this community is part of a reality TV show. The man financing this project has added rules like all the men have to be married within a year and 3 must have babies. There is an old mansion on the property that 5 women have opened as a B & B. They had all quit their jobs with the plan of living a simpler life in the way Jane Austin would have lived including the way they dressed. They all planned to pursue their dreams like painting, writing and music while running the B & B. Nora was one of the women staying in the mansion and as soon as Clay saw her, he was hooked. But Nora didn't want to jump into a relationship too fast so she held back. This is not a typical romance in any way. There were so many twists in this story like a stalker, the show's camera crew that followed them everywhere, and Clay’s irritating father. The setting is so unusual with the men building a sustainable community and the women living a Regency lifestyle that I had a hard time getting into the book at first and if it wasn't that I love Cora Seton's writing so much, I probably would have stopped reading. I'm glad I continued though. It's a good story with lots of ups and downs for the characters. It made me laugh and cry while keeping me on the edge of my seat at times with suspense. The characters were great and I could feel their heartache, fear and joy. I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. I can't wait to read more from Ms. Seton.
