I only read the first of the series and, as military science fiction, it fell flat. The 'hero' was very one dimensional and not very interesting. The whole boot camp section lacked any authentic feeling. The military scenes were all flat and dull. You had the feeling that the author never experienced anything military in real life. I plan to skip the rest of the series.

I own this book (and series) as a paperback and now as an ebook. I reread it at least once a year. This is scifi's Harry Potter. The author has invested a lot of time to create an authentic universe which I wish I could visit. Phenomenal characters that grow, a plot that despite the main character being a precog, always surprises, intrigues and holds secrets to be found on every reread. Treat yourself and enjoy!

Currently reading this book and it's a good story. Looking forward to the next book. Only thing...the author gets a bit overly descriptive at times.
