About the author

Abigail Ellsworth has her doctorate of physical therapy from Slippery Rock University and is a Certified Pilates Specialist. She is the owner of the Pilates, Therapy and Wellness Center of Westchester where she blends her rehabilitation background with her Pilates knowledge to provide a Pilates-based physical therapy approach. Abby studied the classic Pilates style in Pittsburgh and New York, and has published several research studies regarding the muscle activity of the body and the most effective types of movements. She has lectured for the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma (NISMAT), and is part of the monthly health lecture series for Scarsdale, NY. Abby enjoys drawing from her physical therapy background for her keen eye for postural compensations, alignment, and movement impairments.
