विनोबाजी के सेवाधर्म का उद‍्देश्‍य मानवता की सेवा करना था। संपूर्ण विश्‍व उनका सेवा-क्षेत्र था। इसी आधार पर उन्होंने अपने आपको ‘विश्‍व मानव’ और ‘विश्‍व नागरिक’ के रूप में स्थापित किया था। इसी धारणा के अनुरूप विनोबाजी ने व्यक्‍ति-व्यक्‍ति में कभी भेदभाव नहीं किया; किसी समूह, वर्ग या राष्‍ट्र के प्रति अतिरिक्‍त निष्‍ठा रखते हुए विचार नहीं किया।
