About this eBook

Before there was E.L. James’s 50 Shades of Grey, there was Zane’s Addicted. Once described as “the hottest paperback in the country” by The New York Times and now a major motion picture, this wildly popular novel by the Queen of Erotica follows one woman’s life as it spirals out of control when her three extramarital affairs lead her down a dark and twisted path.

For successful Black businesswoman Zoe Reynard, finding the pleasure she wants, the way she wants it, is not worth the risk of losing everything she has: marriage to the man she has loved since childhood, a thriving company, and three wonderful children. But Zoe feels helpless in the grip of an overpowering addiction…to sex.

Finding a compassionate woman therapist to help her, Zoe finally summons the courage to tell her torrid story, a tale of guilt and desire as shocking as it is compelling. From the sensitive artist with whom she spends stolen hours on rumpled sheets to the rough and violent man who draws her toward destruction, Zoe is a woman desperately searching for fulfillment—and something darker, deeper, and perhaps deadly. As her life spins out of control and her sexual escapades carry her toward a dangerous choice, Zoe is racing against time to uncover the source of her “fatal attraction”—as chilling secrets tumble forth from the recesses of a woman's mind, and perilous temptations lead toward a climax that can threaten her sanity, her marriage…and her life.

2.5 stars This book was pretty crazy. Several of the things didn't make sense to me. Cause and effect and real world definitions don't exactly line up, but the entertainment factor is high. It wasn't quite my thing, but if you like a lot of sex and drama, you should definitely check it out.

I really didn't enjoy this book that much. I'm new to the author having come across an article about her some time ago. I found the sex scenes truly lacking in imagination and her writing truly pedestrian. I regret the purchase.

I'm new to Zane. A friend had been pressing me to read the book. After seeing the trailer for the movie, I finally got around to it. I'm more than a third of the way into the book but already feel compelled to comment. The story itself was fine but I'm not a fan of the writing style. Who talks like this?! Even when phrases like "word", the derogatory "trick" among others were popular slang, what preteen talked that way? I get that I was supposed to be taken back to childhood memories and what-not but seriously?! Then, even as an adult, with all the success and professionalism the main characters are supposed to have I am still subjected to this slang-uage that seems so unnecessary, unappealing and unlikely. I feel like regardless of how this story ends; it could be mind blowing, life altering and I would still say any chances that I might read another book by this author are dismal. I am however thankful for the book being written if for no other reason than to get Boris Kodjoe and William Levy on the big screen.
