In NIGHTS AT SEASIDE...

Sky Lacroux has finally realized her dream and opened her own tattoo shop in Provincetown, Massachusetts. She's happy as can be, preparing the shop for its grand opening and renting a cottage in the Seaside community while renovations to her new apartment are being completed. The only thing missing is the one thing she longs for, and has no control over love.

Sawyer Bass, a professional boxer, plays his guitar at a local bar to escape the painful reality of his father's deteriorating health and a recent health warning of his own. But when he spots a stunning brunette across the room, escaping reality goes out the window, and the beautiful woman becomes the focus of his next song and maybe even the rest of his life.

When Sawyer walks into Sky's tattoo shop and sees the woman from the bar Sky the chemistry between them is instant. Sawyer is everything Sky could ever hope for in a man. He's honest, loving, sensitive, and potently virile but boxing goes against everything Sky believes in. The closer they become, the more she realizes that her alpha boxer is waging his own emotional battle only the battle she thinks he's waging isn't the one that threatens to tear them apart.

Sweet with Heat is the perfect description for the Addison Cole Seaside Summers series. Within each book is an adorable couple that have so much heat before them yet she manages to keep their private lives hot and clean. There are hints at their private moments but it is kept private. Minimal blushing happens while reading Addison Cole. In Nights at Seaside we get to know Sky and Sawyer. Sky is a character that has been seen in the other books in the series but she has always been a secondary character. This is her time to shine, her time to find love, and her time to tell her story. Sky and Sawyer see each other at a bar and the sparks fly immediately. There is an attraction that no one can deny yet they don’t talk that night. By chance Sawyer comes into Sky’s new tattoo parlor and fate cannot be denied. I love how quick they come together, how fast their relationship grows, and how evident their love for each is. Sometimes a relationship goes too fast but this relationship had to move fast. These two were so meant to be together that a slow relationship growth was out of the question. The Seaside Girls made their position on the relationship known. They accepted Sawyer into their family without question. There was no doubt that Sawyer would be part of their family after the first bonfire on the beach. The Seaside guys were just as welcoming. Right away Sawyer was taken into their confidence and brought into their lives. I love the scene by the pool with the guys and girls and their jinx’s towards Theresa. Everything in this story is wonderful. The characters, the setting, and the story is exactly what I look forward to when I pick up an Addison Cole book. I recommend picking up your own copy ASAP.

Nights at Seaside is the sixth book in The Sweet with Heat:Seaside Summers series by Addison Cole, the alter ego of the spicy NY Times bestselling author Melissa Foster. Although it is the sixth in the series, it is also a standalone book. You will meet characters from the other books, and will be able to see the relationships that have been fostered. I recommend reading them all, you won’t be sorry. Sky LaCroux is a free spirited, poetry loving, hippyish, free flowing artist. She is awaiting the grand opening of her dream of the moment, Inky Skies, a tattoo shop in the artsy community of Provincetown, Massachusetts. Sawyer(Songbird) Bass is a tortured, sexy, smoking hot, guitar playing boxer. During open mike night at a local pub as she reads her book of poems, by an obscure local poet C.J Moon, a sexy smoking hot guitar player steps up to the mike , sits atop the small barstool and “a moment later, a deep, impassioned voice filled the room”. Sky stops reading and looks up as he sits on the barstool with his eyes closed , strumming and singing with a seductive intensity that brings shivers throughout the room. Sky, who is a lover of all words poetic and lyrical, is mesmerized as the lyrics settle into her bones and draw her deeper with the ever softening ending of the song. The last note of the song ends and the meaning weighs heavy on Sawyers heart and mind. He opens his eyes to the appreciative long applause from the audience. His mind is on his current life problems, yet his eyes are drawn to the exotic olive skinned woman with the C.J. Moon book of poetry. Words being as important to him as boxing, he immediately thinks,”languid, peaceful, wounded .” The more he looks at her “enchanting”comes to the forefront. This evening he came to let his thoughts and feeling release and flow. And flow they did as words and thoughts of this beautiful , enchanting woman’s fictional story came to life on a stack of napkins at the bar. Sky and Sawyer finally meet when he wanders into her tattoo shop the next day looking to add words to the myriad of lyrics on his torso. Sky had been thinking all day abut the singer from last night and what story he was singing away on stage. She was also thinking of the basket of poetic words that her customers had been bringing in lately, scraps of paper with beautiful words and prose. She wondered about this mysterious person that she had named the P-townPoet, and why he kept leaving these passages all over. She finishes with a customer and thinks about the words, and about her grand opening of the shop in a few weeks. She hears,” Excuse me?” , and the man that haunted her dreams and thoughts is standing in her shop asking for a tattoo. The attraction to each other is instantaneous, and so begins the relationship. As you read you feel that this relationship progresses naturally and is not rushed. But the question is , can they get past his career choice and his need for one more bout? What will come of them/him if he proceeds with it? Addison tells this story with so much emotion and heart, you can see the scenes in your mind, and feel the emotions of both characters. Sky and Sawyer come together with so much angst and heart tugging emotions of what is going on in their lives with their fathers, and the angst of her calm sunshine and rainbows life versus his hitting people for a living lifestyle. The more you read the more you are convinced that these two belong together, and you are really pulling for their happy ever after.

A touching tale of commitment and conflict and a perfect holiday diversion this season. Sawyer is a highly disciplined boxer/ poet and Sky is a free spirited tattooist who dabbles in art as in life.
