Bewertungen und Rezensionen

Meiner Meinung nach ist "Aftermath" ein GUTES Buch. Als eifriger EU-Leser (X-Wing, Thrawn-Trilogie u. a.) war ich zunächst skeptisch, was der neue Kanon nun nach den Ereignissen von Endor behandeln würde. Und auch weil das Buch sehr schnell sehr unschöne Bewertungen bekam. Ich finde, Wendig und das Lucas-Team haben vieles richtig gemacht: - neue Charaktere, die glaubwürdig sind und nur sehr indirekt an der Vorgeschichte beteiligt gewesen sind; - Schergen des Imperiums, die nicht einfach nur böse sind, sondern durchaus verschiedene Charakterzüge und Ambitionen aufweisen; - ein aparter Schreibstil, der die Handlung gut abbildet und einige schöne Beschreibungen bereithält; - eine gute Balance aus Wissen und Nicht-Wissen. Mir persönlich gefallen auch die vielen kleinen Kurzstorys, die unter anderem einige alte Figuren wieder zum Leben erwecken. Es sind wirklich nur "Happen", aber man versucht automatisch, Verbindungen zum kommenden Film herzustellen. Man sollte das Buch nicht anhand der ersten Seiten beurteilen, sondern ihm eine Chance geben. Und man sollte keine falschen Erwartungen daran stellen: Es liegt in der Natur der Sache, dass einige unserer liebsten Charaktere nur erwähnt werden. Auf der Leinwand wirken sie doch sowieso am besten! Ich werde das Buch wohl vor dem Film noch einmal lesen und bin gespannt auf die Fortsetzungen.
