This quick read started with a great hook and held my interest. I found the story confusing at first, but I loved the characters, and the unpredictable plot kept surprising me. Japanese spirit Kami currently inhabits a woelfin (shapeshifter) body. Being embodied causes her to develop human feelings, including love and regret, but she doesn’t trust herself not to lapse back into greedy spirit behavior. This becomes a cool redemption story with a heartwarming ending.
