About this ebook

Helen Harding never meant to end up in the small town of Birdwell, Texas. It was just supposed to be a quick detour on the journey to her new life. Helen tells herself that she just wants to sell her newly inherited house so she can donate the money and get out of town without a heap of guilt. And when Crowe Appliances comes to town looking to build a factory, Helen has a prime opportunity to sell them her house as well as see them create jobs for hundreds of down on their luck Birdwellians.

That is until the head of Crowe Appliances ends up dead.

Worse, the body is found in a classic convertible owned by Aodhagan MacFarley—sheriff, answer man, mayor, and Helen’s sometimes partner-in-crime solving. Now the police have their eye on Aodhagen, Helen is once again stuck in town, and a murderer is on the loose. Now it's up to Helen to find out the truth while trying to keep Aodhagan out of prison... before the killer decides to take Helen out of Birdwell permanently!

A group of staff and family of Crowe Appliances turn up in Birdwell, looking at buying Helen's house, and opening a factory in town, which will bring many jobs for locals. Unfortunately, the owner of Crowe is soon found dead, in Aodhagan's car, no less. Aodhagan and Helen look into the death themselves, as state police also investigate, but the number of people with motive, and the skills to pull off this murder, is quite large. I liked the different characters and personalities in this book, and Aodhagan and Helen's will they/won't they storyline. This was a light, easy to read mystery and I look forward to reading more from this author.

All My Exes Live in Texas kept me well entertained, Some of the Crowe crew characters were just so over the top that I found myself giggling despite the murder! Aodhagan and Helen are my new favorite sleuths. I really like his laid back approach to crime solving. With a lot of witty dialogue, far too many suspects with several possible motives, I was kept guessing! I could not put the book down!

About the author

Aimee Gilchrist lives in New Mexico with her husband and three children. She writes mysteries for both teens and adults. She calls her lifetime of jumping from one job to another 'experience' for her books and not an inability to settle down. Aimee loves mysteries and a good, happy romance. She also loves to laugh. Sometimes she likes all of them together.

A fan of quirky movies and indie books, Aimee likes to be with her family, is socially inept, and fears strangers and small yippy dogs. She alternates between writing and being a mom and wife. She tries to do both at the same time, but her kids don't appreciate being served lunch and told, "This is the hot dog of your discontent." So mostly she writes when everyone else is in bed.

Aimee also writes YA and Inspirational Romantic Comedies under the name Amber Gilchrist.
