La présente étude porte sur deux écrivains "égyptiens": Albert Adès et Albert Josipovici. Alors qu'elle est actuellement peu étudiée la littérature égyptienne d'expression française connut le succès avant même que la notion de "francophonie" ne soit généralisée. Jusqu'au milieu du XXe siècle, le français était, pour l'élite intellectuelle d'Egyptienne, synonyme d'accès à la modernité et à la culture. Adès et Josipovici n'ont pas été lus avec toute l'attention qu'ils méritent. C'est à cette omission que cette étude cherche à remédier.
