I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It is an immersive fantasy that creates the perfect balance between an intricate world and avoiding excessive description. It is a fast paced action novel; in a world reminiscent of that of the Elder Scrolls. It is a novel that adults will enjoy along with teens; the book manages to engage without inappropriate content. The main disadvantages to this nobel was that is had some minor editing issues, with grammar being omitted. I also found the beginning of the novel disorientating. Temor's background is aluded to throughout the novel, and while eventually we gather a picture of the futuristic world from which he comes, I believe that we would be better served should Maven had added a prologue. But if you make it through the first few chapters, the novel is fun, intriguing, and enjoyable. I will read it again, and cannot wait for Maven's next novel.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book it was the first time I had read a book of this genre and I would recommend it.

It was a great read, took me forever to leave it and get something to eat.
