About the author
Amber James was born in 1983 in Melbourne, Australia. She grew up surrounded by surfers and the finest waves in the world, but since her teenage years this true romantic set her sights on literature. She went on to study modern literature and became a teacher while continuing to write short stories. During a language exchange in California she met her future husband, originally from Beverly Hills, who became the first person to read her stories. After leaving her native Australia for good, she moved in with him and, encouraged by his enthusiasm and unfailing support, decided to write her first novel Captive.
