He has long specialized in the most forgotten and overlooked subjects of the Civil War, presenting unique narratives of a ground-breaking nature. After earning a PhD in American history from St. Louis University, St. Louis, Missouri, Tucker served as a professional historian for the Department of Defense, mostly in the Washington, D.C., area.
