About this ebook

The Mannies

Seeing the truth and falling in love.

Dustin Robbins-Grayson was a surly adolescent when Quinlan Gregory started the nanny gig. After a rocky start, he grew into Quinlan's friend and confidant—and a damned sexy man.

At twenty-one, Dusty sees how Quinlan sacrificed his own life and desires to care for Dusty’s family. He’s ready to claim Quinlan—he's never met a kinder, more capable, more lovable man. Or a lonelier one. Quinlan has spent his life as the stranger on the edge of the photograph, but Dusty wants Quinlan to be the center of his world. First he has to convince Quinlan he’s an adult, their love is real, and Quinlan can be more than a friend and caregiver. Can he show Quin that he deserves to be both a man and a lover, and that in Dusty’s eyes, he’s never been “just the manny?”

This is a book fur in the Mannnes series but I'll call it more a world. The book stood just fine on its own as I have not read all the others and loved this one. I will say there are lots of characters from other books and reading their stories you would understand who they are and the relationships between Quinlin and Dustin. Quinlin has been the Manny for Dustin's family for 7 years. Now Dustin is grown and ready to claim Quinlin for his boyfriend and to see him he is a capable man and no longer his charge and a boy. Quinlin comes to Dustin's family after leaving his family and wealth behind. His ex-crush and best friend Sammy hooked him up with the interview for the job but Quinlin saw all the kids and decided against it. Until he walked into the men's room and caught a 14-year-old mouthy, sullen Dustin smoking and making out. He frog-marches him to his parents and the job is his. 7 years later he finds himself in a dilemma. will having a relationship with Dustin cost him his new family. Oh my! Oh my! Oh my! Is there anything not to love about this book? I' ll tell you at the end of my review. Every single character was so interesting and loveable (except the bad guy at the end and I wanted to slap her!) The plots was interesting and I was pulling for Quinlin from the first page. I love May/December and this was so good, though in my book the age difference barely made it so. The story starts in prest day then goes back in time 7 years and advances from there in stages until we get back to present. This really worked in getting the backstory and why Quinlin is dragging his feet. There is a twist tossed in at the end that stirs things up. Now, what was it I didn't love? It ended! I could have read more and more!! I guess I will be going and getting the other books and waiting impatiently for another. I sure hope there will be one!

About the author

Amy Lane is a mother of two grown kids, two half-grown kids, two small dogs, and half-a-clowder of cats. A compulsive knitter who writes because she can’t silence the voices in her head, she adores fur-babies, knitting socks, and hawt menz, and she dislikes moths, cat boxes, and knuckleheaded macspazzmatrons. She is rarely found cooking, cleaning, or doing domestic chores, but she has been known to knit up an emergency hat/blanket/pair of socks for any occasion whatsoever or sometimes for no reason at all. Her award-winning writing has three flavors: twisty-purple alternative universe, angsty-orange contemporary, and sunshine-yellow happy. By necessity, she has learned to type like the wind. She’s been married for twenty-five-plus years to her beloved Mate and still believes in Twu Wuv, with a capital Twu and a capital Wuv, and she doesn’t see any reason at all for that to change.
