Very well researched and very interesting historical read. However, the author insists in quoting old English writings that are difficult to understand for those who have not studied Olde Englisch!! Also she does not give an understanding of the value of money converted into our times. So, she writes that someone received £600 as inheritance but how much is that worth today?!

Amy Licence has been a teacher for over a decade. She has an MA in Medieval and Tudor Studies and has published several scholarly articles on the Tudor dynasty and Richard III.
