William Stringfellow, activist lawyer and advocate for the underprivileged of New York, was either embraced warmly or rejected as a radical by Christians in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s when he was writing. Jeffrey A. Mackey is an Episcopal priest, retired after fifty years of ministry as a parish priest and a college and seminary administrator. Mackey served as the assistant vice president and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Nyack College, New York.
