Seminar paper from the year 2020 in the subject Computer Science - Miscellaneous, grade: 1,0, University of Constance, language: English, abstract: This seminar paper summarizes the findings of Ofoghi et al. and Devoir et al. who analysed and compared different versions of Omnium track cycling to find patterns in the performance of successful athletes and to determine if changes in the rules had significant effects. The authors of both papers conclude that sprint ability is more important than endurance ability for a good overall ranking in all considered Omnium versions. Furthermore, they point out which individual events are most correlated with the overall standings.
