About this eBook

A theoretical analysis of absorbers whose radioactivity are time-dependent is presented. Matrix methods are employed as a tool in analytical determination of intensity of radioactivity and amount of heat generated in any portion of thick absorber. The method is applied to the following : (1) plane source of monochromatic radiation of single type at normal incidence to a plane absorber, (2) plane source of polychromatic radiation of single type at normal incidence to plane absorber, and (3) plane source of polychromatic radiation of several types at normal incidence to plane absorber.
