About the author
Anatol France (1844-1924, doğum adı François-Anatole Thibault) Fransız şair, gazeteci ve romancı. Kitapçı bir babaya sahip olan France'ın hayatında kitaplar her zaman büyük bir yer tutmuş, eğitiminden sonra Fransız Senatosu'nda kütüphaneci olarak çalışmıştır. "Sylvestre Bonnard'ın Suçu" isimli kitabı ile Fransız Akademisi'nden ödül almış ve "Kırmızı Zambak" ile 1921'de Nobel Ödülü'ne layık görülmüştür. Emile Zola'nın bildirgesini imzalamış, Dreyfus Davası'nda France da önemli bir rol almıştır.
