★★★★★ - "Tantalizing beginning to interesting series ... a pleasure to read ... leaves you wanting more!" ~ TABITHA, ETERNALLYLEARNING

A woman fated to die. A vision that could save her ...

Nicolas Crystan, struggling to cope with his traumatic past, shuffles through life keeping mostly to himself ... until he has a disturbing daydream of a woman's death. At first he tries to forget it, but when real life mimics the daydream, he realises it was no ordinary fantasy--it was a vision of the future. To save a life, he must act fast.

When Juliet Maystone escapes death, defying fate, she becomes 'displaced' in this world. All she wants is to return to her bustling day-to-day routine, successfully running her own business, but as hard as she tries, she can't ignore that things have changed for her. She has to face up to the fact that being 'displaced' comes with an unexpected ability.

On Lansin Island, a quaint place with a dark history of its own, Nicolas and Juliet must learn to use their newfound abilities and work together to unravel a mystery more connected to Nicolas than he ever imagined ...

Just like all the other thriller novels I've read in the past, I could not put this book down the second I opened it. Andrew Butcher fits perfectly on my bookshelf amongst all the big thriller authors. It's clear Andrew has a great talent for writing, and I think he will go far. This book is written from many different peoples perspectives which helps you understand all angles to the story line. There's plenty of romance too, especially between Nick and Juliet. Andrew has even incorporated Wiccan and Pagan practices to add some mystery and scare to the book. There are even ghosts and spirits, so he really adds his own spin on supernatural essences, which makes this book unique and unlike anything else I have read.

Could not decide on 3 or 4 stars. Wanted to give 5 for style and technique, but still needing practice to perfect it. A real effort made to keep the story rolling, and the surprises coming without bogging the reader down with excessive needless details.. Occasionally it was a little too brief, but I couldn't stop at 'the end of the chapter'

The first part is slow because all the various characters (seemingly unrelated) must be introduced to the reader. Then the story goes faster with subtle plot twists, getting faster and faster with very interesting reveals. Very, very good! I am looking forward to reading the next book.
