Ratings and reviews

The movie was better, and not just because of Pacino. Niderman's writing focuses on all the least interesting elements of this story. The characters are paper dolls, and the dialogue sounds like an eight-grader's imitation of how adults talk. Niederman barely shows us the two trials in this book, but we spend page after page hearing about every stick of furniture in every room, we know what everyone is wearing, how tall they are, how old they are, and none of that information comes into play. Waste of time.

Much more in depth than what a movie could provide. Having seen the movie first then reading this book, I feel like I have a better understanding of each character. What a great twist of fate at the end!

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but the movie is actually better than the book.
