About the author

A recovering lawyer, Ann Christopher is an award-winning contemporary romance author. Her series include JOURNEY'S END (small-town contemporary romance), THE DAVIES LEGACY (contemporary romance), WARNER FAMILY SECRETS & LIES (contemporary romance), and the DEADLY series (romantic suspense). Ann has also written a tragically bad starter novel that will forever remain under her bed, where it belongs.

When she's not writing or communing with her readers on her Facebook page, Ann likes to do the following, in no particular order: read; cook; eat; hang out at Target looking for new stuff she doesn't need; crochet; quilt; play with her 2 rescue dogs and 2 rescue cats; and travel the world with her family.

Her favorite cities are Washington, D.C., Venice and Paris, in case you were wondering. She lives in Ohio with her husband and over-scheduled teenagers.

If you'd like to recommend a great book, share a recipe for homemade cake of any kind, or have a tip for getting your teens to do what you say the FIRST time you say it, Ann would love to hear from you via Facebook or through her Web site.

Brenda’s holiday season is looking pretty bleak.

She hasn’t spoken to her half-sister, Rachel—the only family she has left—since Rachel stole her boyfriend, and Brenda hasn’t dated since. Now, Rachel and the man Brenda once thought she’d marry herself are expecting a child, and Rachel keeps inviting her over to have dinner with them. Brenda has already turned down their Thanksgiving invitation, but she doesn’t want to spend Christmas alone, yet she’s not sure she has gotten over her ex enough to face the two of them as a couple. But then she collides with a handsome stranger in a coffee shop and everything changes...

Alex has given up on family Christmases and miracles after watching his family slowly get wiped out, his brother the latest casualty. He has settled on living life playing the field, not trusting his luck with having people he cares about stick around. But a chance encounter with a sad-looking beauty in a coffee shop arouses his curiosity.

To make up for the coffee he spilled on her, Brenda asks the handsome stranger one favor: to accompany her to her sister’s Christmas dinner. He agrees on one condition: that she go out with him in the meantime until then. They both agree to end their arrangement after the Christmas dinner is over, despite mutual growing feelings of wanting more.

Brenda is determined to keep her heart protected, but can Alex hold on to the scared beauty for longer than the holiday season?

**A heartwarming BWWM love story.**

Lifestyle blogger Serena Raines is used to giving advice on how to "live your best life", but finds herself alone and devastated when her fiancé leaves her. Not ready to share the news of her breakup with her family, she goes into hiding for Christmas alone at a luxurious beach house.

European royal Sandro Leone refuses to let his friends spend Christmas alone, so he rents a house for them to share—and finds a strange and lovely woman already there.

Serena is embarrassed to be discovered in her hideaway and fights a fierce attraction to the charming playboy prince. Things get worse when a surprise winter storm prevents his friends from arriving and leaves them stranded—together.

EXCERPT:

“We all make mistakes,” he said again in that infuriatingly therapeutic tone.

“Do we? I bet you don’t ever make mistakes.” She couldn’t get herself to sound calm. Emotion that had built up in her in the last few weeks, heck, maybe the last year—or maybe her whole life—exploded to the surface. “Why would you? You’re the handsome prince—the knight in shining armor—who any girl would welcome into her life. I bet you’ve never experienced a single moment of rejection.”

He watched her, bemused, and she fought a powerful urge to slap him hard across his handsome, arrogant face. “Have you?”

Her answer came in the form of a hard, hot kiss.

Sandro’s lips crushed over hers, and her protest evaporated instantly in the fire of his kiss. Her limbs grew weak as his big, strong arms wrapped around her. The warmth of his body enveloped her, and his musky, masculine scent overwhelmed her senses.

For a crazy instant she was able to just let go—of all the pain, the embarrassment, the disappointment, the secrecy, the uncertainty about herself and her future—and lose herself in the fierce intensity of his kiss.

A sudden gust of wind threw sand against them and stung her cheek hard enough for her to pull back. She stared at him, blinking, for a moment. Then her heart sank and shame flooded through her. “I guess you just proved my point.”
