About this ebook

Get ready for a hands-on romance with heart, humor, and loads of steam! The Hot Brits are back for more romantic comedy adventures.

I never meant to become the center of a scandal. One disgruntled client started a rumor that I offer "special" massages at my spa. Now I need to get out of town for a while, so I go back to school to finish my long-overdue university degree—in America. My beautiful faculty advisor seems like the perfect distraction from my problems, but I really shouldn't flirt with her. Or try to kiss her. Or offer her a "special" massage…

Maybe I can't help myself, but the sexy American isn't having any of it. My British accent doesn't impress her, and neither does my age. A forty-year-old sophomore? Not enticing, apparently. But I have skills she's never seen. If she'll let me show her, this could turn into the best distraction in history.

One Hot Rumor is the fifth book in the Hot Brits series of romantic comedies from Anna Durand, author of the bestselling Hot Scot series.

A cinnamon roll hero falls for the hot professor! After reading Richard's story in One Hot Escape, I was already invested in reading his brother Nick's story, and it's everything I was expecting. Nick's facing a bit of a scandal-induced crisis of confidence, so he hightails it to the USA to finish one last semester to get his business degree. There, he meets Dr. Griffin, his academic advisor, and sparks fly immediately. The romance is a bit predictable but well done with lots of steamy fun along the way. Nick is a shameless flirt with an old-fashioned one-track mind, but underneath his randy eagerness is a heart that longs to find its home. Siobhan is satisfied in her career - perhaps a tad too satisfied - and she's quite unable (or unwilling) to ignore the invitation to walk on the wild side with Nick. The obligatory "face the music" conclusion of a teacher/student romance is thrown in almost as an afterthought, their "getting caught" is only told to us rather than presented directly and the expected fallout doesn't throw much of a kink into their otherwise solid romance. Nick doesn't come off as the brightest bulb in the bunch (how could he guess her age to be "about thirty" when he's already met her adult daughter?) but his heart's in the right place and his many other qualities are on full display. Siobhan seems easily convinced to adopt a cavalier attitude about her job, despite her initial concerns about the ethics involved, but it's believable that she's simply ready for a career change anyway. Their HEA was terrific and the chance to attend Richard and Maddie's wedding was the icing on the cake. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

The author has pulled us into the lives of Nick and Siobhan and never lets go. When rumors abound about Nick in his town in England, he heads to New Mexico in order to finish his business degree at the University. Siobhan is his faculty advisor and math professor, however they have an immediate attraction that they cannot ignore. Will this be a fling or will they be able to have a fulfilling relationship? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Working on the Issues . . . After a bit of scandal touches his business, Nick leaves for America to finish up his degree. He is assigned a faculty advisor whom he immediately feels attracted to. Siobhan apparently also feels the attraction. They begin to date each other and start a relationship. Nick has some issues to work through and the two of them are able to help each other. Will their relationship become deeper? Have they both figured out what they want from this?
