I enjoyed reading this book & found myself not wanting to be interrupted. I highly recommend. The author has created a refreshing new story in keeping with Pride & Prejudice. It is well written, with wonderfully romantic, wistful, & humorous images conveyed vividly & imaginatively via her use of a diary. Her attention to clarity of detail, & the mechanics of writing is also appreciated. Thank you Ms Elliot for bringing Georiana Darcy et al, to life. I'm excited to explore the additional Characters' Diaries.

I loved this rendition! Really clever, indeed. So much tension between the two main characters that it gives way to a fireworks of a climax. And along with it the rise and growth of the heroine. However, I couldn't help notice how modern the language style was at times -- it kept wavering back and forth between 17th century English Regency and 20th century American periods. That did put me off a little. Otherwise, it was hard to put the book down. Can't wait for more!

This book was a thoroughly lovely respite to routine day-to-day activities. As this story unfolds from the view of a young lady's diary, I did find it unique, but very quickly adapted to the style of writing. It did not take long at all for me to become swept away eagerly awaiting it's next entries. My heart was not disappointed in Georgiana's discovery, as she penned about her relationships with those nearest her, that true love is a wonderful delight. Anna Elliott wrote with the early 1800's sensibilities most elegantly. Great read! -Mrs. David Jenkins

About the author

The daughter of two English literature PhDs, Anna Elliott grew up in Connecticut in a house filled with books. She is a longtime devotee of historical fantasy and fell especially in love with Arthurian legend and Celtic history while at university. Anna now lives in the Washington, DC, Metro area with her husband and three children. She likes Jane Austen, British TV, Castle, Firefly, The Big Bang Theory, sewing toys for her children, and rainbows and unicorns, especially those drawn by her daughters. Mosquitos love her.
