À propos de l'auteur

L.M. Montgomery (1874-1942) was a Canadian writer, born on Prince Edward Island. In 1908, she published Anne of Green Gables, her most successful work and the start of a series of novels. Montgomery went on to publish 20 novels, 530 short stories, 500 poems, and 30 essays. Many of her stories are set on Prince Edward Island. In 1935, Montgomery was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for her contributions to literature.

May Austin (M. A.) Claus was a prolific New England artist who, along with her husband, W. J. A. Claus, contributed numerous interior illustrations to beloved author L. M. Montgomery’s Anne series of novels.William Joseph Anton (W. J. A.) Claus was teacher and illustrator best known for his contributions to L. M. Montgomery’s Anne series of novels along with his wife, May Austin (M. A.) Claus. He immigrated to America from Germany and settled in the Boston area in the 1800s. He eventually went on to become the director of the Claus Art School on Monhegan Island, Maine, along with other various achievements.
