Antje Szillat, 1966 geboren, arbeitete viele Jahre als Lerntherapeutin und - beraterin, bevor sie beschloss, ihren Kindertraum wahr zu machen und Schriftstellerin zu werden. Heute lebt die freie Redakteurin und Autorin mit ihrem Mann, ihren vier Kindern und vielen Tieren in einer Kleinstadt vor den Toren Hannovers.
