About this ebook
Fu Leo Levi a restituire a Oppido Lucano negli anni Sessanta del Novecento Giovanni-Ovadiah, il quale in quella città era nato novecento anni prima (intorno al 1070 e.v.), e di là, a quel tempo roccaforte normanna, egli era partito verso l'Oriente.. Alla storia del Levi, racconto della vita e delle avventure di un viaggiatore nelle terre del vicino Oriente (Aleppo, Bagdad, Damasco, Tiro, Fustat...), autore di una cronaca-autobiografia e di fogli contenenti i più antichi testi liturgici ebraici con notazione musicale neumatica, credette Benedetto De Rosa, allora Sindaco di Oppido, e ciò portò al Convegno di Studi Antiche Civiltà Lucane, tenutosi nel 1970 proprio a Oppido.
